Acrylic Floss Bobbins: Pretty, Practical, and Made to Last

If you love keeping your stitching supplies organized and enjoy tools that feel special, acrylic floss bobbins are a lovely upgrade for your floss storage. Designed to be sturdy, reusable, and genuinely fun to use, these bobbins combine everyday practicality with cheerful patterns that brighten up your stitching space.

Why Choose Acrylic Floss Bobbins?

Our acrylic bobbins are made from durable 1/16" (1.5mm) acrylic, giving them a satisfying weight and structure while still fitting perfectly into standard bobbin boxes and rings.

They’re a small detail that makes organizing your embroidery stash a little more joyful.

Labeling Your Bobbins

Option 1: Write with Permanent Marker - and then remove it!

Our acrylic bobbins have different finishes on the two sides:

  • One glossy, unprinted side
  • One printed decorative side

You can write floss numbers on the glossy side using a permanent marker. If you need to change the number later, remove the marker with rubbing alcohol, isopropyl alcohol or an alcohol wipe. Wipe gently and allow to dry before relabeling.

⚠️ Please note:

  • Do not write on the printed side
  • Do not use alcohol or wipes on the printed side, as this can damage the design

Depending on the design, the glossy side may be clear or white, and the printed side may have a background or be partially transparent. No matter the style, the care rules are the same: 👉 Write on the glossy side only. The printed side is decorative.

Option 2: Use our Custom Colorful Floss Stickers!

For a coordinated, extra-polished look, pair your bobbins with our floss number sticker sets, available for DMC, Cosmo and Anchor, including new sets for DMC Variegated, Coloris, Satin, Étoile and Discontinued colors, and Cosmo Seasons.

These are designed to fit beautifully on the bobbins and make reorganizing fast and easy.

How to Wrap Floss on Acrylic Bobbins

To keep your floss smooth and crease-free:

  1. Leave the floss wrapper on and gently pull a single strand from the side with the printed number
  2. Tuck the loose end into one bottom notch
  3. Wind the floss evenly, without pulling too tight
  4. Move along the bobbin as you wrap to avoid bulky spots
  5. Tuck the final end into the opposite notch

Acrylic Bobbin Care Tips

Acrylic bobbins are durable, but a little care keeps them looking their best:

  • Avoid scratching the printed side with scissors, needles, or seam rippers
  • Don’t store loose with sharp tools
  • Clean only the glossy side if needed
  • Never use alcohol or harsh cleaners on the printed side

A Small Upgrade That Sparks Joy

Whether you’re organizing a single project or refreshing your entire floss stash, acrylic floss bobbins offer a sweet blend of function and personality. With reusable materials, bright patterns, and flexible labeling options, they’re designed to grow with your stitching collection — and look good doing it.
